Lollipop Ladies Challenge #3

Over at  the Lollipop Ladies, they set a challenge this week with lollipops as the inspiration.  Given their lovely name I would have thought that would be the muse for the first challenge lol!

I missed the last challenge. I’m moving house and sometimes I have to get off the computer, or even stop crafting! So I was determined to be in on this one.

Lollipop/ flowers, which I made by rough cutting some circles, distressing them and inking the edges, then placing a little brad in the middle.  Rolled some cardstock for the sticks( Stampin Up Kraft), which was hilarious because I’d never done it before and it was harder than I’d thought!!  I think I should have gone with a thinner card, but I wanted that colour and was being stubborn 🙂  I used the eyelet border punch on the white because I think it makes it look like a little doily.  I love the designer paper which is actually christmas theme I think.  I was hard pressed to find a way to put in the cellophane, but eventually decided to wrap the stamped greeting like a lolly.  I don’t tend to use bright colours in my projects, but I’m happy with how this came up.

Challenge #8

I have a back log of uploads and posts to do, because we went over our download limit 10 days ago!!  Eek, not good 🙂  Couldn’t browse through people’s photos and videos, geez what did I do before broadband.

So it was my turn to set the challenge this week.  Once again with not much forethought!  Really should be more organised!

I said make a wedding invite.  Just for something different.

Heat embossing is my new novelty, and I really like the tearing effect, I seem to do it on most things if you hadn’t noticed!  And I just got a new eyelet border punch which is fun!  Hehe TOYS!!

I wouldn’t want to actually make 50 to 100 of these for actual invites though 🙂

Father’s Day Card

I made this card for Rod’s dad (my father in-law) for father’s day obviously!

I’ve made something for Rod as well of course, but I’ll not post it here until after sunday on the off chance he looks at his wifes blog occasionally lol.

I just love how the clear embossing came up on the front.

Challenge #5

This week it was Carmel’s turn to set the challenge, and I really like what she came up with!  A blind challenge following a set of instructions. And here they are;

Materials needed;

1 x piece of white cardstock
2 x pieces of patterned papers
1 x length of ribbon
1 x journalling spot ( like a tab cut or punched to stamp a greeting on)
1 x stamps and inks
1 x Paper piercer or needle and ink pen (to faux stitch)
Mix of embellishments

1. Trim the cardstock to 30cm x 13cm and fold in half to create a vertically opening card.

2. Cut one of the patterned papers to 14cm x 12.5cm and the other patterned paper to 14cm x 8cm and stick both to the front of the card.
3. Create a faux stitch border along the edge of one of the patterned paper.

4. Tie a ribbon to the front of card
5. Attach a cluster of embellishments to the right hand side of the card.

6. Stamp a sentiment onto the journalling spot and attach it to the card, either on top of or under the embellishments, using foam tape.

7. Add a further embellishment to the journalling spot.

8. Add another embellishment to the left hand side of the card.

Here’s what I came up with;

I love these Stampin Up designer papers!

Trifold Card

I wanted to attempt a trifold card.  I’m not entirely happy with the belly band, but that I can change later!

A Card for Nan

I made this card for my Nanna who’s 74th Birthday it is tommorrow.  She is the only Nanna I have left and really the only grandmother I have ever known, so she is very special to me.

I feel a little naughty for posting these pics before I actually give her this card!  But I’m pretty sure she’s not stalking my blog considering there are less than a handful of people who know I’m writing one so far lol.

I was very happy with the end product.  I don’t play with pink very much, but I’m liking how it came out

Challenge #1

Joined in a crafting challenge started up by my sister in-law and her lovely cousin.  It is great to have something specific to craft to every week, I’m really enjoying it!  Seeing what everyone else comes up with is quite fascinating.

Here is my contribution for challenge one

We had to make something using green, pink and red.  I used all Stampin Up stuff for this apart from the ribbon and embelishments.
