Challenge #5

This week it was Carmel’s turn to set the challenge, and I really like what she came up with!  A blind challenge following a set of instructions. And here they are;

Materials needed;

1 x piece of white cardstock
2 x pieces of patterned papers
1 x length of ribbon
1 x journalling spot ( like a tab cut or punched to stamp a greeting on)
1 x stamps and inks
1 x Paper piercer or needle and ink pen (to faux stitch)
Mix of embellishments
Dimensionals

1. Trim the cardstock to 30cm x 13cm and fold in half to create a vertically opening card.

2. Cut one of the patterned papers to 14cm x 12.5cm and the other patterned paper to 14cm x 8cm and stick both to the front of the card.
3. Create a faux stitch border along the edge of one of the patterned paper.

4. Tie a ribbon to the front of card
5. Attach a cluster of embellishments to the right hand side of the card.

6. Stamp a sentiment onto the journalling spot and attach it to the card, either on top of or under the embellishments, using foam tape.

7. Add a further embellishment to the journalling spot.

8. Add another embellishment to the left hand side of the card.

Here’s what I came up with;

I love these Stampin Up designer papers!

Nan’s Fancy Work

A while back now my Nanna gave me some of her “fancy work” which she made as a young woman.  It is stored away safely in the top of one of my closets waiting for the day when I find a display place in our house for it (like so many things!)   In the meantime I thought I might load a pic of my favourite piece here to admire at my leisure………. and to share with others obviously. It’s so pretty and sweet, I just love it!  xo

Lollipop Ladies Challenge #2

The second challenge is on at The Lollipop Ladies blog. Check it out here.

This is the creation inspiration YUM!

Challenge #4

Another scrap page!!  I think I’m going to have to buy an album soon.

Challenge this week was;

12×12″ scrapbook page
use 1 photo only
must use stamp set “A happy heart”
use at least 1 patterned paper
1 piece of ribbon
& at least 3 bling rhinestones.

This is my contribution.  I’m putting it on here at this ungodly hour(1:30am) because if I wait til later I might want to change it………..for the upteenth time!! Grrr, so for better or worse…………

Lollipop Ladies Challenge

This is my contribution for the Lollipop Ladies 1st challenge that I blogged about earlier.

  Yay managed to get it done, just before the deadline naturally.

I played with the colours of the banana split, bringing in the ice cream colours, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate as designer paper (from Stampin Up)   I decided to make a trifold card to highlight these 3 flavours.  But I also wanted to incorporate the other colours in the pic as well.  I used textured white as the base to represent the whipped cream,  bought in some red with the scallop circle punch and a printed pic of the cherry,  a chocolate coloured circle represents the choc sauce, and a touch of  yellow matting for the banana!  The stamp ” you make me smile” because who doesn’t smile at the thought of dessert? 🙂  it also made me think of the Uncle Cracker song “Smile” that’s doing the rounds at the moment, love that song!!  I liked the silver band idea, because it holds the card, just like the silver dish holds the banana split.  And then a few little square coloured rhinestones for sprinkles. And done!

You would think I thought heaps about it after reading that description, but I really didn’t, it just worked out that way lol!

This was a fun challenge, looking forward to the next one!

Trifold Card

I wanted to attempt a trifold card.  I’m not entirely happy with the belly band, but that I can change later!

A Card for Nan

I made this card for my Nanna who’s 74th Birthday it is tommorrow.  She is the only Nanna I have left and really the only grandmother I have ever known, so she is very special to me.

I feel a little naughty for posting these pics before I actually give her this card!  But I’m pretty sure she’s not stalking my blog considering there are less than a handful of people who know I’m writing one so far lol.

I was very happy with the end product.  I don’t play with pink very much, but I’m liking how it came out
